About the Artist
"Art is what artists do."

Born in 1977 on Long Island, NY, Janet has always been the creative type.  She became more serious about art in high school when she attended The Cultural Arts Center, now named Long Island High School for the Arts, located in Syosset, NY.  From there she went on to perfect her abilities in the art field and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Long Island University at C.W. Post with a focus in painting and photography.

Janet has been focusing her attentions to the art of chiaroscuro.  Concentrating on the strong contrasts between light and dark, she is able to bring a unique approach to her photography.  Janet's oil paintings are a study in texture and color, mixing the paints directly on the canvas.

In 2006, Janet had an exhibition at the Hillwood Art Gallery in Brookville, NY.  That same year she designed promotional postcards for an Off Broadway play written by actress and playwright Angela Liao.  In 2007, Janet was the "Featured Starving Artist" for the June through mid-August preview issue of a women's online magazine. Private collectors kept her busy in 2008 and 2009 with commissioned pieces.
